Onset’s AI tools help with the two slowest parts of release notes: starting the draft, and condensing it afterwards.
AI writing tools and AI release summaries are available on the Team plan and above. See Billing.

Draft from your issue tracker

Connect GitHub, Linear, or Jira, then use the assistant inside the release editor to pull in merged pull requests or completed issues and turn them into a customer-facing draft.
1

Connect an integration

Go to Settings → Integrations and connect GitHub, Linear, or Jira.
2

Open the assistant

In the release editor, open the AI assistant.
3

Select the work to include

Pick the pull requests or issues this release covers.
4

Review and edit

The assistant produces a draft. Treat it as a starting point. It doesn’t know your customers’ context or which changes actually matter to them.

Rewrite and improve

Select text in the editor and use the assistant to rephrase, shorten, or adjust tone. Useful for turning a commit-message-flavored sentence into something a customer would read.

Release summaries

Onset can generate a short summary of a release to show above the full notes on your public page. Turn this on under Settings → Page → Releases → Release summaries.
Always read AI output before publishing, especially for anything involving pricing, security, or breaking changes.
